Shield Daily Devotional

Day 81

Today we look at Principle 5 in Applying the Word to our Lives: If Jesus could overcome trouble, so can you. When trouble comes, it doesn't have to overcome. You can learn to trouble your trouble!

Learning how to trouble your trouble is not an instantaneous or automatic procedure. You will need to invest your time in reading, studying and meditating on the Word. However, if you are diligent to find out who you are in Jesus Christ and study the Word and put it into practice in your every day life, the Word of God will bear fruit. This means you will get results.

When you learn to trouble your trouble, trouble will have to flee. This does not mean you say a few words and automatically the problem disappears. Remember the words of Jesus in John 16:33 " These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." You will have peace if you continue doing what you are supposed to do; stay faithful, stay in the Word and live it out day by day. Don't make the mistake of waiting for big things to be faithful because if you are not faithful with little things you never will be with larger things. Start right where you are at today. Get in the Word, seek to be a blessing to someone and show them the love of God. Remember start small; it can be as simple as giving up your parking space or like a Boy Scout, "helping a little old lady across the street." Get involved today by putting the Word in action. Now that is applying the Word to your life!
