Shield Daily Devotional

Day 36

We are continuing to look at New Testament examples of positive confession with corresponding actions of faith, i.e. "walking the talk." Speaking the Word can be the first step to overcoming those difficult circumstances and people that you find in your walk way. It is vitally important that you continue to speak God's Word over every circumstance. You will see improvement; like a thermostat, it may take some time to see the results. Don't despair; hold on to the truth and His Word will prevail.

Today, we look at Peter's word of confession in Acts 3: 6: "Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk." This was Peter's confession; he had something from the Lord and he was going to impart that something to the lame man.

Now Peter does not stop with the confession; he in verse 7 took the man by his right hand and lifted him up. It was not until he put this bold action of lifting the lame man up did the healing occur: "and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength." Your actions will reveal your faith level. Is there any doubt about Peter's faith in God to heal? How do you know? You know by what Peter did with his faith; he acted on it. It was a bold move. What if the man didn't stand up and he fell? What if it wasn't God's will to heal then? Get rid of the "whatifits" and put some bold action with your Word based confessions today.
