Day 126

Today we examine the final step in living a life that is being filled with the Holy Spirit. The trigger point for everything with God is faith. Faith is the final condition; if you have been faithful to obey the other conditions, all that remains is to exercise faith in His Word and receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 26:18 says: "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me." To live a life separated (i.e. "sanctified") to God is to live a life in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. This verse tells us that we are to be "sanctified by faith." Adam Clarke said of this verse: "By remission of sins, i.e. the removal of the guilt and pollution of sin, they become children of God; and, if children, then heirs; for the children of the heavenly family shall alone possess the heavenly estate. And as the inheritance is said to be among them that are SANCTIFIED, ..., not only the forgiveness of sins, but also the purification of the heart."

When we come to Jesus Christ in repentance and faith, we are justified, i.e. we are declared innocent of wrong doing and our citizenship is now in heaven. Being filled with the Holy Spirit is a subsequent act that enables us to live lives completely dedicated to God. Is this your testimony? Is your life completely dedicated to God or is He an add on just for Sunday morning (that is unless something more important comes along)? The Bible tells us to examine ourselves. I encourage you to do so today. If upon an honest look you see that you have held back from God, I pray that today you will review the steps over the last several days and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Now go stand in front of the spiritual mirror (the Word) and see how you look.
