Day 125

Living a life that is influenced and dominated by the Holy Spirit is the life that God intends His people to live. Too often those that profess to be Christians live well below the poverty line of God's best for them. What do you think God thinks about what you do, say or watch? Do the activities of your life hallow or make holy His name? You see the opening words of the Lord's Prayer: "Our Father which art in heaven hallowed be thy Name," is to be accomplished not by saying the words alone but by how you live.

To accomplish this hallowing of God's Name, you will need to walk in the fullness of God's Holy Spirit. As we have looked at some of the conditions to walking this type of life, have you made any adjustments and are you seeking His fullness? The next condition is that you must ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 11:13 says: "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" The Family Bible Notes says of this verse: "God loves to have men pray for the greatest blessing he can bestow, the Holy Spirit, which he has promised to those who ask him. If any, therefore, do not receive it, and are not enlightened, sanctified, and saved, it is because they do not in faith and love ask for this blessing."

I encourage you today to review the conditions so far: being a new creature in Jesus Christ, obedience to the Word of God, presenting yourself as a living sacrifice and not conforming to the world and asking for the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Tomorrow we examine the final step. Walking in the Spirit is a present day reality and what God did for the early church He still does today for the 21st Century church.
