Day 124
Isn't it exciting to know that God wants you to be constantly filled with His Holy Spirit? He wants you living in a place of complete surrender to Him so that He may fill you completely. He wants you overflowing! Everywhere you go and everything you say should carry with it the influence of the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
To do so we must make sure that our minds are being renewed every day. Romans 12:2 says: "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Speaking of nonconformity to the world, the Brethren NT Commentary says: "The humble follower of Christ dares not form, shape, or fashion (which is the exact sense of the Greek) himself after the foolish and vain customs, styles and forms of the worldly." Regarding the renewing of the mind, it says: "The thought of change is continued; a renewed mind is a changed mind, which is effected by the influence of the Holy Spirit and Word of God."
If we are going to walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit, our minds, thought and speech ("out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks" Matthew 12:34) must be under the influence of the Word of God. If you are going to live this abundant life, you must live a Word based life. There is no other way. If you fill yourself with the latest sitcom or news network continually, then that is what you will be full of. Today commit to renew your mind daily with the Word. As you do so, you are making preparations to walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Get ready, it is really going to be good in a couple of days!
