Day 121

Today we look at condition one to being full of the Holy Spirit. This should be exciting for you as we go over what God's Word tells us about this wonderful encounter with the Third Person of the Trinity. Whether you have known this truth for years or it is new to you, your heart should be approaching these teachings with anticipation.

John 14:17 says: " Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." The Holy Spirit is received by those that already have a relationship with the Father through faith in the Son Jesus Christ. Of this verse Philip Doddridge says: "[Even] the blessed Spirit of truth and grace, whom the world cannot possibly receive as a Comforter, because it neither sees him nor knows him, being altogether destitute of his sanctifying influences, and refusing to admit his testimony to me; but you know him in some measure, even now, by his powerful operations in you and by you; for he already dwells with you in part, and shall quickly be more abundantly in you, by a much ampler communication both of his gifts and graces."

If you have made Jesus Christ Lord and Savior of your life you have met the first condition to receiving the Holy Spirit in His fullness. This is not just an acknowledgment that Jesus Christ rose from the dead; this is coming to Jesus Christ in repentance because you see yourselves as lost and headed for hell and without Him you would have no hope. Understanding your plight you have chosen to cast yourself by faith on Jesus' to save you and you have been transformed into a new creature. Do you see the power of belief? It is not head knowledge; it is like a train wreck (you know if you have been in one because things are different). If you have been born again and became a new creature thank Him for what He has done for you by transforming you day by day into His image. If you are unsure about your eternal destiny, cry out to Him in repentance to save you and to make you a new creature. The Word tells us that He will not turn any away that come to Him. Now that is very good news
