Shield Daily Devotional

Day 75

You can meditate on God's Word throughout the day, whether you are shopping, working or even talking with friends. How do you say? Let me ask you this: have you ever had some worry that consumed your thoughts? Maybe it was a relationship gone bad; bills that had to be paid; or a sickness that was life threatening to a loved one; it was probably the last thing you thought about before you went to sleep and the first thing you remembered in the morning. Whatever it was, it consumed your thoughts.

When Joshua 1:8 says, "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." This verse is telling you that you are to be consumed with the Word of God. You are to dwell on the Word the way you used to dwell on the problem.

So you see, the problem is not whether you have the capability to meditate day and night; the issue is on what are you going to dwell. An addict dwells on what he is addicted to; it is all he or she can think about. It consumes their every waking moment. I am this day encouraging you to get addicted to the Word of God. Remember, it is not about your ability to do it, it is about your desire to do it. If you do not have the desire, then prayer the prayer of worship until you get the desire. It will come because God desires for His children to meditate on the Word (which is why Joshua 1:8 was inspired of the Holy Spirit to be in the Bible).

God has given you the key to success and prosperity. It is meditating on the Word. I am going to stop the devotion now so you can get started. Happy dwelling!
