Day 179

As we saw yesterday, there are four points to the blood that will help us understand Divine Healing. 1 Peter 2:24 is our foundational Scripture: "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." It is the shed blood that is the source of our Divine healing. The second point of the blood shed at Passover that helps us to grasp the healing power of God is: the blood must be applied. Romans 3:25 tells us: "Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God...." We see from this verse that the blood is applied through faith.

The Barnes NT Commentary says of this verse: "Through faith. Or, by means of faith. The offering will be of no avail without faith. The offering has been made; but it will not be applied, except where there is faith. He has made an offering which may be efficacious in putting away sin; but it produces no reconciliation, no pardon, except where it is accepted by faith." (emphasis supplied) Faith is the applicator of the blood; without faith, the healing blood sits on a shelf like a bottle of medicine that is not taken. It is not likely that the medicine would effectuate a cure without being taken.

The same holds true for the power of the blood. Just like one can not be saved without applying the shed blood to their life by faith, one is not likely to be healed without applying the healing blood of 1 Peter 2:24 to their bodies by faith. In the Passover account, we know that the only ones who received deliverance from death were those that actually applied the blood to the door posts. The same holds true for Divine healing; only those that apply the healing blood to their bodies through faith will receive deliverance (there are other ways to receive healing, e.g. the gift of healing, the prayer of the elders, however, this section covers receiving healing directly by applying the blood yourself). Today, know that Jesus has shed His pure holy blood to save you forever and to heal you now. (Be prepared to be persecuted and mocked for standing for the truth, but it is OK because they did the same thing to Jesus!)
